Blog: Dooce

Dooce is my favorite blog ever. Heather Armstrong's blog became popular when she posted about loosing her job because of her blogging. She got "dooced." Heather blogs about life, motherhood, depression , and many other things that come with life. Her sense of humor is merciless and unforgiving. I love it.

I first discovered Dooce when I was researching postpartum depression, which I suffered after birth of my son. Heather's postings about her battle with PPD kept me sane. I found my salvation in her writing, and still to this day I'm waiting impatiently for the new postings on Dooce.

Music Album: Movements by Booka Shade

If you are into electrohouse music scene, Booka Shade' s album Movements is nothing like you've heard before. According to Wikipedia "Booka Shade is a German electrohouse duo. It is made up of Walter Merziger and Arno Kammermeier, described as veterans of the Frankfurt electronic music scene. They have released two albums, Memento and Movements. Their 2005 singles "Mandarine Girl" and "Body Language" (with M.A.N.D.Y.) were widely played in clubs [1][2] and licensed on many mix CDs; Resident Advisor called "Body Language" "one of the biggest releases of the year."[3]

They were featured on BBC Radio 1's Essential Mix on July 2, 2006.[4]"

The record's first three compositions are simply phenomenal. I usually fire it up on my iPod during my long runs and it just keeps me going. The style is a nice deviation from the repetitive techno I started getting tired of. If you are on a market for something fresh but still with all the greatness of the house-electronica - this is definitely your album.

Book: Cell-Level Healing: The Bridge from Soul to Cell

I wanted to start my first review with a book I just finished - Cell-Level Healing: The Bridge from Soul to Cell by by Joyce Whiteley Hawkes.
This is an amazing read for anyone who believes in improving their health trough meditation. The story of Joyce's journey from a cellular biology scientist to a cell-level healer is fascinating. Joyce experienced a near-death-experience, which changed the direction of her life completely. She heard a voice calling her to heal. She listened. Now she helps people daily and still contributes to the field of a cellular biology as a scientist. There are a lot of New Age type books out there on the market today. A lot of them are very questionable. That's why I really pay attention when a real scientist with a wast knowledge in his/her field write a book like this. It makes it that much more credible.
I already started practicing some meditations from this book. I hope my cells will listen ;-)

Happy First Birthday ReviewArmy Blog!

Hi, I'm Z. I'm married with children working professional.

I almost never buy anything without reading a review first. Today I thought that I have too many opinions about too many thing on my own. Why not share? I think I will write my reviews on things that made an impression on me one way or another. I love books, some HBO and Show Time series, cool toys, you name it. I will probably categorize my reviews as my blog matures.

Warning, English is my second language and I apologize in advance for minor errors. Considering that ten years ago I did not speak a word of English I think made a tremendous leap forward to feel comfortable speaking and writing it.
